Power in the Tongue

You know it really bothers me when people talk so negative. Especially Christians! If you are a child of God then you have something to be happy about. And it is not about being happy but having joy. we are not promised that everything will be good, and we will not always be happy, but we can make a choice each and every day to have joy. Something I learned in church was that joy stood for
(J)Jesus (O) Others (Y) Yourself. If we keep Jesus first, love our neighbors (others) as ourselves, and then put ourselves next, we can find joy.

But even when you are having a bad day, be careful of the things you say. There is power in the tongue. Here are a few Bible verses that I found on the same subject. Read and see what the word of God says about the tongue:

Let's don't speak corrupt words to or about each other, but lets lift one another up.

  1. I agree with you, and when you live with someone that is so negative all the time it is even harder to be positive yourself. Even though I don't get to do the things that I want to do all the time, he has yet to let me down. God has supplied my every need and right on time every time!
